ATAK grip socks have been worn at the top level of rugby and football for over a decade - from Premiership pitches to Sunday league, Pilates studios to gym floors. Every pair is built around one idea: stop your foot sliding inside your boot or shoe, so the power you put in is the power you get out.

What are grip socks?

Grip socks - also called grippy socks or non-slip socks - use silicone pads printed onto the sole to lock your foot in place. In football and rugby that means sharper changes of direction and less wasted energy inside the boot. In Pilates, yoga and gym work it means a stable base on studio floors and mats, plus a hygienic layer in shared spaces.

Choosing the right pair

  • Classic Grip Socks - our original mid-length sock, trusted across rugby, football, hockey and cricket. The all-rounder if you're not sure where to start.
  • Ultra Light Grip Socks - the lightest in the range, built for footballers who want maximum foot-to-ball feel and breathability.
  • Full Length Grip Socks - grip plus full-length coverage, so there's no need to wear a second sock over the top.
  • C-Grip Compression Grip Socks - graduated compression combined with grip, for players who want circulation support alongside traction.
  • Yoga & Pilates Grip Socks - a lighter quarter-length grippy sock designed for reformer work, mat work and barre.
  • Sock Sleeves - footless sleeves to wear over your grip socks, so you can keep club kit colours while retaining grip underneath.

Sizing and care

Available in UK sizes 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12 across a range of colours. Wash at 30°C and air dry - avoid tumble drying and ironing, as high heat degrades the silicone grip over time. Turning them inside out before washing extends the life of the grip pads.

Frequently asked questions

Are grip socks and grippy socks the same thing?
Yes. "Grippy socks" is simply the more casual name for the same product - a sock with a non-slip silicone sole. You'll also see them called anti-slip or non-slip socks, particularly in Pilates and yoga.

Do I wear grip socks instead of my normal football socks?
Most players wear grip socks underneath, then cut down their club socks or pull sock sleeves over the top. That way you keep your team colours while the grip sock does the work against the boot.

Are they allowed in matches?
Yes, provided the visible outer sock matches your team's kit - which is exactly what sock sleeves are for.

Which grip socks are best for Pilates?
Our Yoga & Pilates Grip Socks. They're quarter-length and lighter than the sports range, with grip coverage designed for reformer beds and studio flooring rather than boots.
